Wiesbaden GG Preview: Pfalz Riesling Part IV
Acham-Magin, Dr. von Bassermann-Jordan, Reichsrat von Buhl, Dr. Bürklin-Wolf, Georg Mosbacher, von Winning
Finishing off the Forst wines; it was a shame to have but two Kirchentück, my candidate for greatest Riesling vineyard in the Pfalz, if not the world.
ACHAM-MAGIN
2023 (Forst) Ungeheuer Riesling GG

Dr. BÜRKLIN-WOLF
2023 (Forst) Ungeheuer Riesling GG
Spiced yellow peach nose. Medium-weight, elegance, some breadth here, yellow fruits, long in mouth. 93(+)/A
Georg MOSBACHER
2023 (Forst) Ungeheuer Riesling GG
Yellow nectarine nose. Ripe yellow nectarine with good acidic backbone, lively, long in mouth, precise, fresh. 94/A
2023 (Forst) Freundstück Riesling GG
White peach aromas. Medium-light on palate, but good drive here, freshness, Forst complexity to yellow fruits. 93(+)/A
von WINNING
2023 (Forst) Ungeheuer Riesling GG (barrel sample)
Floral nose with an almond undertone. Medium-light, elegant, dense, powerful. (91-94)
2023 (Forst) Kirchenstück Riesling GG (barrel sample)
Still some reduction in the nose. Round, some oak overtones, smooth, long, layered. Very much von Winning’s idiosyncratic style, but well-done in that manner. (92-95)
