Géraldine Godot, technical director, said that 2022 was a hot year; the harvest was similar to 2020 with harvesting in August, but the year was also very different from 2020. There was no frost or hail in 2022.

Yields overall were 38 hl/ha. The new policy of destemming all the grapes, begun in 2021, continued in 2022. The grapes were ripe, with alcohols ranging up to 14.5º, but the ripeness was not bothersome and indeed the overall range of wines here in 2022 is sensational.
REDS:
We begin with two wines already in bottle at the time I visited:
2022 Bourgogne Hautes-Cotes de Nuits Le Mont
It is pure and precise with focused red fruits and excellent acidic support and freshness. Planted in 2007. 35 hl/ha yield. DIAM3 closure. 91/A+
2022 Côte de Nuits-Villages Le Clos du Chapeau
Floral nose. More body and depth, pure red fruits, excellent acidity and energy. Light on palate. Long. 92+/A
Rest of wines are cask samples, to be bottled in March and April 2024:
2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Mont des Oiseaux
This is wine from the upper part of Clos de l’Arlot. More breadth here, pure red fruits, complexity, good acidity, very pretty. Drinks well now. 35% new wood. (91-94)
The remaining reds below were raised 40% in new oak:
2022 Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru Clos de l’Arlot
More substance than the Mont des Oiseaux, even a bit of succulence; red fruits, but here one will need to wait some time for this wine to show its full potential. Rounder on palate, deeper in fruit, long. (93-96)
2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Forêts Saint-Georges
Savory, saline, pure, good density, depth, complex red fruits. (94-96)
2022 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Suchots
A little darker fruit, smooth, medium-weight, freshness, purity, but needs more time in barrel. (93-96)
2022 Romanée-Saint-Vivant
Floral nose. Excellent layering in the mouth, pure, great finesse. Red fruits. Elegant. (95-98)
WHITES:
2022 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Le Mont
Tasted from bottle. Pure, clear, just a slight touch of sucrosity. Calm. Mineral. Vines date to 2012. A touch of citrus fruit. DIAM closure. 87/B+
2022 Côte de Nuits-Villages Au Leurey
Tasted from bottle. Mineral, more complexity, some vanillin to go with citrus fruit. Lovely to drink right now. Roundness plays against the minerality. DIAM5 closure. 91/A
2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos de l’Arlot
Still in tank, will be bottled the week of 11 December 2023, sulphured 2 weeks prior to tasting. Lemon blossom nose with some chalk. Round, mineral, chalky, long with finesse and concentration. An outstanding Côte de Nuits white. (92-95)
My notes on the 2021s tasted from bottle in June 2023 are here.
