2022 Pfalz Riesling GG Part VIII - Bürgergarten Im Breumel, Idig, Meerspinne, Ölberg-Hart, Vogelsang from Christmann and Müller-Catoir

Moving to the southern portion of the middle Pfalz, the quality remains high from these two superb producers.

A. CHRISTMANN

2022 (Gimmeldingen) Meerspinne Riesling GG

Allspice nose. Medium-full, round, spicy white fruits, a touch of tropical, good complexity and length. 93/A

2022 (Königsbach) Idig Riesling GG

Lemon blossom nose. Pure lemon-lime fruit in a medium-light body; not quite as crackling as usual, but still attractive, especially for early drinking. 92/A

2022 (Königsbach) Ölberg-Hart Riesling GG

Light lemon blossom nose. Round, sensuous, lacks just a little concentration of a still better wine. 91/A-

2022 (Neustadt) Vogelsang Riesling GG

Lemon blossom and vanilla nose. Purity and clarity in mouth, luminous, with good acidic backbone. Approachable now, but should age very well. 93/A

MÜLLER-CATOIR

2022 (Haardt) Bürgergarten Im Breumel Riesling GG

Floral, perfumed nose. Clear, round, not much structure showing, but so pleasing for citric Riesling fruit. This is approachable for early drinking. 92/A
