As we move south towards the French border, notable here is the Schäwer vineyard, a very rare occurrence of slate in the Pfalz.

Spicy, slate nose. Round in mouth with spiced peach fruit. A very elegant, classic Riesling. 93/A

Spicy, slate nose. Intense, slate spice, round, power with elegance. Tasted from cask sample. (92-94)

2022 (Gleisweiler) Hölle Unter Faulenberg Riesling GG

Lime blossom, medium weight, pure, elegant, long in mouth. Tasted from a cask sample. (91-93)

Oekonomierat REBHOLZ

2022 (Burrweiler) Schäwer Riesling GG

Some spice, round, but less open than Meßmer. Quite dense; as with all Rebholz wines, needs time to develop. 92+/A

2022 (Siebeldingen) Im Sonnenschein - Ganz Horn Riesling GG

Less structure than Im Sonnenschein below (this is colored sandstone); sensuous, broad, deep, but still rather closed in its fruits. 92+/A

2022 (Siebeldingen) Im Sonnenschein Riesling GG

Lemony, clear, structured, limestone-typicity here. Needs time. 93/A
