2022 and 2021 Mosel Riesling GG Part II -- Grans-Fassian, Haart, and Nik Weis-Sankt Urbans-Hof
The unevenness of the vintage is evident in this set of wines. I was particularly disappointed in the Grans-Fassian wines (see also the Laurentiuslay in the previous post) — it’s a producer where I’ve had good results in the past.
GRANS-FASSIAN
2022 (Trittenheim) Apotheke Riesling GG
Light, elegant, airy, but lacking a little concentration. 87/C
2022 (Drhon) Hofberg Riesling GG
Lightly perfumed nose. Smooth but a touch dilute on palate, not much showing now. 86?/D
2022 (Piesport) Goldtröpfchen Riesling GG
Round, yellow peach of Goldtöpfchen, a touch soft, not the precision or energy of a better year. 88/B-
HAART
This is the estate formerly known as Reinhold Haart, not to be confused with Julien Haart.
2021 (Piesport) Goldtröpfchen Riesling GG
Yellow peach, round, good concentration, smooth texture, drinks well now. 90/B+
2021 (Wintrich) Ohligsberg Riesling GG
Pure, intense white skin peach fruit, excellent precision and concentration. 92(+)/A
Nik WEIS - SANKT URBANS-HOF
2022 (Piesport) Goldtröpfchen Riesling GG
Yellow peach skin nose. But good energy, penetration for the vintage. 90/B+
