2021 and 2022 Pfalz Riesling GG Part IV -- Freundstück and Ungeheuer from Acham-Magin, Bassermann-Jordan, Buhl, Bürklin-Wolf, and Mosbacher

Great wines here. Especially notable are the wines from von Buhl which, across the board, were outstanding to great in 2021. The years of the overly-reductive style are becoming a distant memory.

Peachskin with orange blossom overtones in the nose.  Medium-light on palate, good depth and penetration, long. A wine that needs some cellaring. 93+/A

Pure, peach skin fruit, intense, long, penetrating, good structure. 93/A

Good acidity, penetrating, still rather closed, but there is energy here. Not yet come together. 91(+?)/A-

Round, smooth, some force here, peach fruit, good length, relaxed style, early drinking. 92/A

Georg MOSBACHER

Good acidity, liveliness, concentration, depth with orange-infused peach fruit. 94/A

2022 (Forst) Ungeheuer    Riesling GG 

Very fresh, with peach skin fruit, a nervy edge from the acidity, good length. Almost 2021 in style. 93(+)/A
